COLUMBUS, Ohio – Monday, the No. 15 Ohio State women’s tennis team will kick off its dual season with two matches in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in Columbus. The Buckeyes will face Cleveland State at 10 a.m. and Bellarmine at 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

- Ohio State is 8-0 all-time against Cleveland State, with the last matchup a 7-0 win Feb. 20, 2019. All eight matches have been in Columbus. Monday will be the first time the Buckeyes take on Bellarmine on the tennis courts.
- The Vikings are 1-1 this season, with a 4-3 loss to Marshall and 7-0 win over Dayton at home over the weekend.
- The Knights opened their season with two matches in Starkville, Miss., Saturday, falling to host Mississippi State 4-0 and to Samford 4-1.
- Luciana Perry had a team-high 14 singles wins in tournament play this season, while Alessia Cau, Teah Chavez and Audrey Spencer each picked up 13 victories, Nao Nishino had 12 and Shelly Bereznyak had 11.
- In doubles, Dani Schoenly was first with 10 victories, with Spencer and Nishino each winning nine and Cau part of eight victories.
- Perry earned her second All-America honor at the NCAA Championships in the fall. She is the first Buckeye to reach the NCAA Round of 16 twice and just the second to reach the quarterfinals (and the first since 2001).
- The Buckeyes’ spring slate includes at least seven matches vs. opponents ranked in the ITA preseason poll– No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 5 UCLA, No. 8 Michigan (twice), No. 11 Duke, No. 14 NC State, No. 17 USC and No. 18 Tennessee (possible).
- Three Buckeyes are ranked in singles to start the spring campaign – No. 8 Perry, No. 46 Spencer and No. 85 Sydni Ratliff.
Kickoff Weekend Up Next
The Buckeyes will head to Knoxville, Tenn., for ITA Kickoff Weekend Friday and Saturday. Ohio State will take on NC State in the first round and either Tennessee or Texas Tech on day two. The site winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, held Feb. 7-9 in Evanston, Ill.
