Londot and Sellman Earn Big Ten Weekly Honors



COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly women’s volleyball awards on Monday. Graduate opposite Emily Londot was named Big Ten Player of the Week for the second time this season. Freshman Emmi Sellman earned her first weekly honor as Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
 
Londot led the Buckeyes to a pair of wins in their final home weekend of the season. Londot averaged 4.50 kills/set, hitting nearly .400, as well as 5.13 points/set, 2.88 digs/set and 0.63 blocks/set. In the sweep of Washington, Londot led all players with 16 kills and added nine digs, two aces and two blocks. She had the set-deciding kill in all three sets. In the win against Indiana, Londot recorded her sixth 20-kill match of the season and hit .405. She added 14 digs for her 16th double-double of the season and also a trio of blocks. Londot had eight kills in the fourth set to help the Buckeyes force a fifth set and then was 3-of-3 in the fifth set to help the team hit .833 in the set. This season, Londot leads the team with 4.44 kills/set and 5.17 points/set and leads all non-liberos with 2.70 digs/set. Earlier today, Londot was picked 10th overall by the Omaha Supernovas in the 2024 PVF Draft.
 
Sellman helped lead the Buckeyes to a pair of wins this past weekend by averaging 3.63 kills/set, 1.88 digs/set and 0.50 blocks/set. In the sweep of Washington, Sellman finished with 10 kills, six digs, a pair of aces and a block. In the win against Indiana, she totaled 19 kills, nine digs and three blocks. In the fifth set, Sellman was a perfect 5-of-5 to help the team to a .833 hitting percentage in the set. She had a hand in all four points to end the match, including recording the kill on match point. This season, Sellman is second on the Buckeyes’ roster with 2.97 kills/set and is also averaging 1.58 digs/set.
