COLUMBUS, Ohio — Thomas Leahey, a graduate middle blocker from State College, Pennsylvania, was named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Leahey, playing in his first season with the Buckeyes following a transfer from St. Francis after the 2023 season, led Ohio State’s defensive effort with 13 blocks against No. 6 BYU in two matches last weekend in Columbus.
In the second outing against the Cougars, Leahey was credited with eight blocks.
