Five Buckeyes Named to All-North Region Team


COLUMBUS, Ohio—Five Buckeyes were recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for their accomplishments this season by being named to the 2024 First and Second All-North Region Teams.
 
Michael Adedokun, Siggi Magnusson and Luciano Pechota all were named to the first team while Deylen Vellios and Marko Borkovic earned second team recognition.
 
The Buckeyes are playing in the 2024 College Cup this week in Cary, North Carolina. No. 1 Ohio State takes on No. 13 Marshall in the second semifinal Friday (7:30 p.m./ESPNU).
 
Adedokun, Magnusson and Vellios were named to the 2024 All-Big Ten First team. Borkovic and Pechota were second team honorees.
 
The Buckeyes (16-1-4) won the 2024 Big Ten Tournament title after earning a share of the regular-season crown (7-1-2).
 
Adedokun leads Ohio State in goals (11) and assists (11). Pechota was second in assists (7) and tied for third in goals (5).
 
Borkovic scored five times to go with five assists for the No. 1-ranked Buckeyes. Vellios and Magnusson lead a back line that held opponents to just 18 goals this season. Three foes to date in the NCAA Tournament have combined to score just once.
