COLUMBUS, Ohio – The first two – Walter Camp and the American Football Coaches Association – of the five All-America teams that will comprise the NCAA’s consensus and unanimous All-America teams, were announced Thursday evening and Friday morning, respectively, with two Buckeyes – graduated center Seth McLaughlin and sophomore safety Caleb Downs – honored as first-team All-Americans on each team.
Still to come: the Associated Press All-America team on Monday, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) team on Tuesday and The Sporting News team on Wednesday.
Second-Team Selections
Freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was named a second-team All-American by both the AFCA and Walter Camp, and graduated (this Sunday) offensive guard/tackle Donovan Jackson earned second-team honors by the AFCA.
