COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team finished its first meet of the 2025 season at the Rod McCravy Invite on Saturday in Louisville, Ky. The Buckeye women placed second among 15 teams with 107 total points, while the men tied with Ole Miss for third among 16 teams with 80 total points.
Over the weekend, 32 Buckeyes placed in the top five of their given events. Of those 32 Buckeyes, 20 placed in the top three with Ohio State athletes winning five events. The five wins were Edidiong Udo (men’s 600m, 1:16.77), Olivia Oiler (women’s one mile, 5:00.45), Daniella Santos (women’s 3,000m, 9:39.36), Brian Kellon (men’s long jump, 7.29m/23-11.00) and a men’s distance medley relay team. The team consisted of Colin Cernansky, Jaxson Eckert, Cooper Citro and Connor Long who all contributed to a time of 9:55.98.

FIELD RESULTS
- Shot put: Lacey Stringer placed third for women’s after posting 17.26m/56-07.75, good for a personal best and six team points. Also for women’s, Morgan Hallett finished in seventh place with a 14.15m/46-05.25 toss, earning two points. For men’s shot put, Hayden Tobias placed second after tossing 18.61m/67-03.50, picking up eight points. Michael Lunsford finished 10th with 15.75m/51-08.25.
- Men’s pole vault: Daniel Edwards placed 10th with 4.87m/15-11.75.
- Triple jump: Christian Seibert placed 11th after posting a 13.67m/46-01.25.
TRACK RESULTS
- 60m semis: Bobbi Olive’s and Lalia Hacket’s performances granted each an automatic qualification for the women’s finals. Olive placed fifth with a 7.50 and Hackett finished sixth with a time of 7.54. The men also had success with two runners also automatically qualifying for the finals. Nazzio John finished second (6.72) and Marcus Brown Jr. finished fifth (6.76).
- 60m finals: Olive placed fifth in the women’s 60m finals after a 7.42 dash, earning four team points, and Hackett finished seventh after running a 7.63, good for two points. John finished second in the men’s 60m finals after posting a 6.70, earning eight points.
- 60m hurdles semis: Malik Mixon placed fifth with an 8.10, which was good for an automatic qualification to the finals. Olivia Powell finished fifth with an 8.40, automatically qualifying for the finals.
- 60m hurdles finals: Powell placed fifth in the women’s 60m hurdles finals with a time of 8.33, picking up four points. Malik Mixon accumulated two points after finishing seventh in the men’s final with a time of 8.49.
- Mile: The women had four athletes place in the top 10 including Olivia Oiler (first, 5:00.45, 10 points), Zoee Lehman (second, 5:00.96, eight points), Lilly Eckels (fourth, 5:02.19, five points) and Carina Napoleon (10th, 5:08.35). Oiler’s time of 5:00.45 is a personal best. Cooper Citro finished ninth in the men’s mile with a time of 4:21.64.
- 400m: Avery Clark led the Buckeye women with a time of 57.55.
- 3000m: Daniella Santos placed first in the women’s 3000m with a time of 9:39.36, earning 10 points. Teodora Lovi finished second at 9:55.98 and earned eight points. The men had five athletes place in the top 10 including Connor Long (second, 8:15.10, eight points), Liam Shaughnessy (seventh, 8:28.32, two points), Colby Adams (eighth, 8:28.79, one point), Zubin Jha (ninth, 8:30.70) and Colin Cernansky (10th, 8:34.40).
- 4x400m relay: The women had two teams that finished in the top 10. The first consisted of Fatouma Conde, Michaela McCall, Sydney Bryant and Powell, who earned two points by finishing seventh with a time of 3:41.29. The Buckeyes’ B team consisted of Clark, Callia Harris, Leah Bertrand and Olive, who finished 10th with a time of 3:47.70. The men’s team was made of Shohaan Singh, Brown Jr., Nick Biega and Nick Robinson. Collectively, they placed ninth with a time of 3:17.36.

The Buckeyes will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to compete in the Hoosier Horsepower Classic Saturday, Jan. 18. Details about the event will be announced in the upcoming week.
