COLUMBUS, Ohio – Michael Adedokun, a senior midfielder, and graduate defender Siggi Magnusson were both named 2024 United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Americans for their efforts during a 16-2-4 season for the 2024 Buckeyes.
Ohio State advanced to the 2024 College Cup after winning the 2024 Big Ten Tournament and earning a share of the league’s regular-season title.
Adedokun led the Buckeyes and the Big Ten with 33 points, 11 goals and 11 assists.
Magnusson was the leader of the back line that allowed just 19 goals on the year while helping to record 10 shutouts, including three in the postseason.
Both were named to the 2024 All-North Region squad and are semifinalists for the 2024 MAC Hermann Award while each claimed spots on the 2024 First Team All-Big Ten squad. Adedokun was voted unanimously as the league’s Big Ten Midfielder of the Year by the conference coaches.
In addition to their accomplishments on the field, both, along with a total of 15 from the 2024 men’s soccer team, where named Academic All-Big Ten this season.
Adedokun is a native of Eruwa, Nigeria. He and Magnusson, who hails from Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, both played two seasons in Columbus.
Ohio State now has 13 total All-America honorees since the program became a varsity sport in 1953.
