COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 16 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team makes its first Big Ten road trip of the season this weekend to compete at No. 19 Michigan Friday, Jan. 31. The meet between the Buckeyes (2-3, 1-1 B1G) and Wolverines (4-2, 1-1 B1G) starts at 6:45 p.m. from the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. and will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required).

The meet between the Buckeyes (2-3, 1-1 B1G) and Wolverines (4-2, 1-1 B1G) starts at 6:45 p.m. from the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. and will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required).
Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State looks to rebound this week at Michigan after suffering its first Big Ten loss last Friday to No. 4 Michigan State. The team is third in the Big Ten behind the Spartans and UCLA in the Road to Nationals standings with an average score of 196.150. In the conference standings, the Buckeyes are tied for fourth with a 1-1 record with Penn State, Michigan, Illinois and Nebraska.
- Freshman Rylee Guevara won her first event title in last week’s meet vs. the Spartans, scoring her third straight 9.900 on floor. She is fifth in the conference and tied for 14th nationally in the event.
- The Buckeyes are top 10 in the country on vault and floor. The team averages 49.167 on vault and earned a season high of 49.300 in its season opener. On floor, Ohio State has an average score of 49.250 with a season-high 49.375 earned in the home and Big Ten opener vs. Iowa. Guevara leads the team with a 9.900 average on floor while Tory Vetter’s 9.850 average on vault is a team best.
- In addition to Guevara, freshmen JJ Coleman and Cameron Smith have made their impact in the Buckeye lineup in their first collegiate season. Coleman won the vault title in her first career home meet with a career best, and team season best, 9.900 and also competes on floor. Smith is in the vault and beam lineup and is second on the team on vault and third on the team on beam.
- Courtney McCann leads the team with a 9.887 average on beam. She scored a team and individual season best 9.900 in the dual against Michigan State and is currently second in the Big Ten on the apparatus. Her career high 9.975 is tied for the program record.
- Along with vault, Vetter leads the team on bars (9.867). She is the lone all-around competitor for the Buckeyes through the first three meets. She won the all-around in two of three meets so far this year.
- Vetter has won a team high five event titles on the year. She has won an event title on every event except vault.
- Friday’s meet at Michigan is the team’s first dual against the Wolverines in Ann Arbor since the 2021 season. The last time the team competed at the Crisler Center was last season at the NCAA Regional. The Buckeyes advanced out of the second round but ended their season third in the regional final.
- Ohio State is led by eighth-year head coach Meredith Paulicivic. Paulicivic has earned an 80-50 record in her time at Ohio State. She is assisted by Randy Monahan, Mickayla Stuckey and Quest Hayden.

The upcoming home schedule features a dual against Minnesota (Feb. 16), the Big Four meet against Nebraska, Rutgers and UCLA (March 2) and a tri-meet against Kent State and West Virginia (March 16).
