COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team is set to begin the 2025 season at the Rod McCravy Memorial, hosted by the University of Kentucky, on Friday and Saturday. The 30th edition of the meet will be held at the Norton Sports & Learning Center in Louisville. Fans will have a choice to park in two surface lots for $5 each day.
On Friday, field events are scheduled to start at noon with the high jump, while track events will start with the women’s 60m prelims at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the women’s shot put and triple jump will start at 11 a.m., while track events will begin at noon with the women’s 60m semifinals.
- Leah Bertrand represented Trinidad & Tobago at the 2024 Olympics this past summer in Paris, France. She finished 14th in the 4x100m relay and 25th in the 100m.
- Entering her senior year, Leah is a six-time USTFCCCA All-American. She also has three first-team honors.
- Aniya Mosley and Bertrand each set school records last year. Mosley broke the 800m (2:04.29) and Bertrand broke the 60m (7.20). The 800m was 2:04.31 (Katie Borchers, 2015) and the 60m was 7.23 (Christina Manning, 2012).
- Bertrand and Hayden Tobias were each named Big Ten Athletes to Watch for the 2025 track & field season. Both also earned 2024 USTFCCCA Indoor Second-Team All-American honors for 60m (Bertrand) and shot put (Tobias).
- Both Bertrand and Tobias competed in the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships. Bertrand placed 15th in the 60m (7.37) while Tobias finished 11th in shot put with a best mark of 18.70m/61’4.25″.
- At the 2024 Indoor Big Ten Championships, the Buckeye men finished fourth with 80.33 points. Twelve athletes placed in the top five in various events including shot put (Tobias, first), men’s 400m dash (Mason Louis, first), men’s 4×400 relay (Antonio Hanson, Armani Modeste, Noah Carmichael and Louis, second), men’s 200m dash (Braxton Brann, second), men’s 60m hurdles (Brann, second), men’s 60m dash (Nazzio John, third), men’s high jump (Shaun Miller Jr, third), men’s long jump (DJ Fillmore, third) and the men’s 600m run (Alex Kenish, fifth).
- For the 2023-24 academic year, Ohio State led the conference with 262 Academic All-B1G Honorees, 30 of which came from track & field. The women had 18 representatives, and the men had 12. Sean Kaminski was highlighted for carrying a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average.
