COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11/9 Ohio State women’s basketball team (11-0, 1-0 B1G) travels to San Francisco to face Stanford (8-3, 0-1 ACC) on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. ET in the first game of the Invisalign Bay Area Women’s Classic. The game will be broadcast on FS1 and AM1460 and played in the Chase Center.
- Ohio State capped its 2024 home slate with an 82-57 win against Grand Valley State on Tuesday. OSU shot 78.6 percent from the floor in the first quarter to build a 31-10 after 10 minutes.
- Chance Gray and Cotie McMahon led the Buckeye offense with 23 and 21 points, respectively. Each tallied their fourth 20-point game of the season. McMahon shot 9-of-14 (.643) from the floor and Gray was 5-of-8 (.625) from long range. Eboni Walker and Madison Greene each chipped in a season-high eight points.
- Stanford enters the Invisalign Bay Area Women’s Classic with an 8-3 record and a 0-1 ACC record. The Cardinal is a perfect 8-0 at home so far this season.
- Stanford holds wins against Le Moyne, Washington State, Gonzaga, UC Davis, Morgan State, Cal Poly, UC San Diego and UTSA, while falling to Indiana, then No. 5 LSU and California.
- Stanford has three averaging double figures – Nune Agara (17.4), Elena Bosgana (13.2) and Brooke Demetre (12.3). The trio also leads the team in rebounding – Agara (7.1 rpg), Bosgana (6.3 rpg) and Demetre (5.3).
- Ohio State trails 2-1 in the all-time series against Stanford after a pair of Buckeye wins were later vacated due to NCAA rulings.
- The teams last met in Stanford, Calif. on Dec. 15, 2019 when Stanford won by a 71-52 margin. The Cardinal also holds an 84-66 victory in the previous neutral-site matchup on March 28, 2009.
- Ohio State won the first meeting of the series by a 79-47 margin on Dec. 28, 1984 in Columbus.
