Lima (AP) – Shakira announced Sunday that he canceled a concert in Lima after being emergency hospitalized with an abdominal condition.
“I regret to inform you that last night (Saturday) I had to go to the emergency room for an abdominal picture and I am hospitalized at this time,” said the popular Colombian singer in a statement published in her official X account, formerly Twitter.
He added that doctors have informed him that “I am not in a position to present a concert tonight,” so he said he was sad not to get on stage.
The star and recent winner of Grammy was planned for the best Latin pop album for “women do not cry” to provide a concert on Sunday 16 and Monday 17 at the National Stadium in the Peruvian capital, after an absence of 14 years in the nation Andina
Shakira added that he hopes to improve and be discharged on Monday, “to be able to present the show that I have prepared for you.”
He said his team is working on a new date to perform the show that was suspended.
Fans and journalists gathered outside the private clinic where the artist was treated.
Shakira arrived in Peru on Friday night from Brazil, where he had presented his show.
In a publication on their social networks on Saturday, he thanked the Peruvian public for the “so emotional” reception. The next stop of his “Tour” was his native Colombia.
Shakira is considered one of the icons of Latin music and has sold more than 80 million albums. He has received four Grammy and 15 Latin Grammy.
