At least 1 injured in Austin library ‘critical incident,’ police in Texas say

One person was taken to the hospital after a “critical incident” Saturday afternoon at Austin Central Library in Texas.

The Austin Police Department (APD) confirmed on X there is at least one victim, though the nature of the incident was not immediately provided.

The suspect, who was described as a “thin Black male” wearing a gray hoodie, green shorts, black pants, black shoes, carrying two black bags, remains outstanding, according to police.

“If you see this person, call 911 immediately,” officials wrote in the post. “DO NOT approach.”

The Austin Fire Department confirmed to Fox News Digital they are at the scene with EMS.

APD did not immediately respond to additional inquiries from Fox News Digital.
