YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team fell 13-3 to Youngstown State in midweek non-conference action at Eastwood Field on Tuesday.
The Rockets (9-18) were separated from by the Penguins (5-22), who put up crooked numbers in the second, third and fifth innings to build up an 11-run lead after five frames.

How It Happened
- Tre Mariano got Toledo on the board with a single in the top of the first.
- Youngstown State took a 3-1 lead in the second on a two-run triple and a sacrifice fly.
- YSU capitalized on a Toledo error for a four-spot in the third to take a 7-1 lead. The Penguins scored on two RBI singles and an RBI double in the inning.
- After a Rocket run, the Penguins scored six more times in the fifth to put the game out of reach, including a three-run home run by Kyle Fossum.
