TOLEDO, Ohio – The Louisville Sports Commission named Toledo senior wide receiver Trayvon Rudolph to the Paul Hornung Award preseason watch list on Thursday. The award is presented annually to the most versatile player in college football.
Rudolph is in his first season with the Rockets following five seasons at Northern Illinois. He was named All-MAC four times in his Huskie career, two times each at wide receiver and kick returner. For his NIU career, he caught 151 passes for 2,032 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named a freshman All-American by the FWAA and second-team All-MAC in 2020 as a kick returner. As a sophomore, he earned second-team All-MAC honors as both a receiver and kick returner, snagging 49 passes for 877 yards and seven TDs with a MAC-leading 25.1 kickoff return average. He had 51 receptions in 2023, earning third-team All-MAC accolades.
Three finalists will be selected in December and the winner of the 2025 Paul Hornung Award will be honored in March. The award is now in its 16th season.
Rudolph and the Rockets begin the 2025 season on Aug. 30 at Kentucky, before returning home for the “Biggest Party in Toledo” on Sept. 6 against Western Kentucky.
