TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men’s tennis team hits the road this week for a pair of Mid-American Conference matches against UIC and Northern Illinois. The Rockets will meet the Flames on Thursday in Chicago at 1:00 p.m. and then wrap up the weekend at Northern Illinois on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in DeKalb, Ill.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo (9-9, 3-4 MAC) fell to Ball State and Western Michigan last week, 5-2. Senior Hanamichi Carvajal picked up three-set wins over the Cardinals and the Broncos on the No. 1 and No. 2 singles courts, respectively. Lucas Britez tallied a 6-4, 6-1 win over Ball State while Matias Olivero claimed a straight set win on the No. 3 singles court against Western Michigan
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
UIC (13-4, 4-2 MAC) claimed a 7-0 victory over Northern Illinois last week in their only match. The Rockets and the Flames met on March 20, 2025 at Shadow Valley Tennis Club as Toledo claimed a 4-3 win.
Northern Illinois (7-12, 0-6 MAC) fell to UIC last week, 7-0. The last meeting between Toledo and NIU was on March 22, 2025 as the Rockets recorded a 5-2 win.
