TOLEDO, Ohio – Ali Green was officially introduced as the University of Toledo’s head women’s golf coach today at a press conference in the Nancy & James Lapp Creative Studio at Savage Arena.
A Cincinnati, Ohio native, Green is the fourth head coach in program history. She comes to Toledo after serving as an assistant women’s golf coach for the last two years at Abilene Christian University, as well as serving as the head coach at the University of Dayton from 2021-23.
“As I step into this role, I’m filled with excitement about the future,” Green said. “I have the privilege of working with six incredibly talented young ladies, and I cannot wait to begin that chapter with the world-class Inverness club as our home course. We are going to build a culture of excellence, resilience and unity. The University of Toledo is a remarkable institution, and I am proud to be a part of this community. It’s clear that this is a place where student-athletes are valued, and where excellence is pursued with heart and integrity.”
Vice President and Director of Athletics Bryan B. Blair noted that Green’s first-hand knowledge and ability to relate to the her players at her previous positions were something made her stand out throughout the interview process.
“The opportunity to welcome a new coach to our Rocket family never gets old,” Blair said. “It’s always special to feel their excitement and listen to their vision. We were looking for someone who has experienced success, sat in the head coach’s seat before, and possessed Midwest roots. We got that and more with Ali, and we’re extremely excited to have her leading our program.”

Prior to her stints in the collegiate coaching ranks, Green spent five years at the helm of the Lakota East (Ohio) High School girls’ golf program, where she guided the Thunderhawks to three Top 10 state finishes. On the amateur level, Green competed at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship and has twice captured Ohio Women’s Amateur titles (2019, 2021).
Green said she is happy to return to the Buckeye state along with her husband Robby Pickett, the head men’s golf coach at Oakland University.
“Serving as the head women’s golf coach at the University of Toledo is more than a professional milestone for me; it is a deeply personal milestone as well,” Green said. “I grew up in Ohio. Being back in my home state, being back in the place that provided values and experiences that changed me – it feels like coming full circle.”
