COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team (0-2) travels to Miami (OH) (3-0) for a midweek match on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The match is scheduled to be broadcast live on ESPN+.

- Ohio State opened the season at the ‘Canes Classic last weekend. The Buckeyes fell to VCU (24-26, 20-25, 17-25) and RV Miami (FL) (18-25, 16-25, 21-25) at the tournament to begin the season.
- Against VCU, freshman Mina Gunes led the Buckeyes with 10 kills and hit .375, making just one error. Fifth-year transfer Sydney Wyman led the Buckeye block with seven total blocks (two solo). Returning starters Mia Tuman (25 assists) and Olivia Hasbrook (eight digs) led the squad in their respective categories.
- Against Miami (FL), the Buckeyes presented a balanced offense with five different players totaling at least five kills apiece. Junior transfer Hannah Jones led the way with eight kills.
- To begin this new era of Buckeye volleyball, seven student-athletes made their Buckeye debuts during opening weekend. This is the first time under Head Coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg that the team is comprised entirely of her recruits.
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
- Miami (OH) enters the midweek match with a 3-0 record after sweeping SIUE (25-12, 25-19, 25-23), Bellarmine (25-19, 25-21, 25-22) and Indiana State (25-21, 25-15, 25-16) in the Bellarmine Classic.
- The RedHawk offense had four players average at least 2.0 kills/set through opening weekend with Chelsea Williams (3.78 kills/set) leading the way. Hayden Hicks (6.33 assists/set) and Kamryn Utley (4.22 assists/set) split time in the setting position.
- Defensively, Lindsay Kahren led the team with 4.11 digs/set during opening weekend, while former Buckeye Anna McClure averaged 1.33 digs/set. Gentry Warrick averaged a team-high 1.89 blocks/set.
HISTORY WITH MIAMI (OH)
- Ohio State leads 13-3 in the all-time series against Miami (OH), but the teams are tied 2-2 when playing in Oxford. This is the first meeting with the RedHawks in the Oldenburg era.
- The most recent match between the teams took place in Columbus on Sept. 19, 2019 when the Buckeyes won in four sets (25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 25-20).
- The most recent match to take place in Oxford was on Sept. 20, 2014. Ohio State captured a four-set win (20-25, 28-26, 25-16, 25-17).
