COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 14 Ohio State women’s golf team is tied for third place after the second round of the NCAA Columbus Regional on Tuesday.
The Buckeyes shot a team score of 303 (+15) in round two, playing through rainy conditions all day. The team has a 36-hole score of 582 (+6). The Buckeyes are just two strokes behind first-place Arkansas and one stroke behind second-place UNLV. As a team, the Buckeyes are tied for the third-most birdies with 23. Ohio State is two-under on par 3s, which is third-best among the 12-team field.
Nellie Ong is tied for fourth place with a two-round score of 143 (-1). She shot 77 (+5) on Tuesday.
Kary Hollenbaugh jumped 34 spots up the leaderboard after firing a one-under 71 in round two. She sits tied for 10th place with an overall score of 146 (+2). Hollenbaugh had three birdies in the second round. She is two-under on par 3s, which is tied for second-best among the field of 66 players.
Faith Choi is tied for 18th place with a 36-hole score of 147 (+5). She shot 78 (+6) in the second round.
Marina Joyce-Moreno shot 77 (+5) in round two and is tied for 34th place with a score of 151 (+7).
Mandy Song is tied for 53rd place. She shot 80 (+8) on Tuesday and has a 36-hole score of 155 (+11).
The final round of NCAA Regionals will take place Wednesday, May 7 at the OSU Scarlet Course. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 16-21 in Carlsbad, Calif.
