Five Buckeyes Earn USA Lacrosse All-America Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio USA Lacrosse named its NCAA Division I men’s All-Americans Thursday and the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team had five representatives on the list.

Caleb Fyock and Bobby Van Buren were named to the First Team and Cullen Brown, Greg Langermeier and Alex Marinier picked up the honorable mention nod. The postseason All-America award is the first for Brown, Fyock, Langermeier and Marinier. Van Buren previously earned honorable mention honors in 2022 and 2023.

Fyock, the Big Ten’s Specialist of the Year, leads the country with a .620 save percentage. He is second in the nation with a goals-against average of 7.71. The sophomore from Bowie, Md. has held opponents to under 10 goals in 12 of the Buckeyes’ 16 games this season. He was named the Most Outstanding Player after making 14 saves in the team’s semifinal game vs. Rutgers and a career-high tying 19 stops in the championship game win over Maryland.

Van Buren, a captain for the Buckeyes in 2025, is one of the team’s veteran leaders on the defensive end. Drawing the top matchup in every game, Van Buren has helped Ohio State to the sixth-best scoring defense in the country with a 8.75 goals-against average. Ohio State’s scoring margin is also in the top 10 thanks to the team’s success on the defensive end. The senior from Wingate, N.C. has picked up 22 ground balls on the year and caused 14 turnovers.

Brown works beside Van Buren at close defense for the Buckeyes. In addition to the team’s defensive accolades, Brown has a program-record 33 caused turnovers this year. His 2.06 caused turnovers per game rank fifth nationally. The junior from Silver Spring, Md. also leads non-faceoff players with 56 ground balls.

Langermeier, a captain and starting short stick defensive midfielder, has been a key part for the Buckeyes on defense and in transition. The senior from Westlake has 19 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers, three goals and three assists on the season.

Marinier is the Buckeyes’ leading scorer this season with 46 goals and 48 points. He is first among Big Ten players with 2.88 goals per game, good for top 20 in the country. The Burlington, Ont. native’s 43 percent shooting leads the conference and has helped Ohio State to the third best shooting percentage nationally. Marinier has a goal in all but two games this season, 12 multi-goal games and nine hat tricks.
