Buckeyes Sit Third After Opening Day at Inverness Intercollegiate



COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team finished the opening day of the Inverness Intercollegiate in third place after two rounds Monday, putting itself in contention near the top of the leaderboard heading into the final round. 

Marina Joyce-Moreno entered the tournament as an individual and currently sits in seventh place, shooting even par in the second round. Kary Hollenbaugh led team scoring through the first two rounds with an opening 74 (+3) followed by a round-two score of 76 (+5).  

Matilde Santilli finished the opening day with rounds of 76 (+5) in the first round and 75 (+4) in the second. Nellie Ong followed with scores of 74 (+3) in the opener and 79 (+7) in the afternoon. Sophie Eppelstun provided back-to-back rounds of 76 (+10), while Mandy Song added scores of 77 (+6) and 80 (+9) to round out the team’s effort on the day. 

Ohio State will play the third and final round Tuesday to conclude the tournament.
