COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore forward Jocelyn Amos of the Ohio State women’s hockey team was named Forward of the Week by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Monday following a seven-point weekend in the Buckeyes’ sweep of Bemidji State. The award is the first of her career.

The Ailsa Craig, Ont. native was one of three WCHA players with multiple points in both games of the weekend. Her seven points and four goals on the weekend led the league and she tied for second with three assists.

Amos started the weekend with a four-goal performance in the Buckeyes’ 6-0 win over Bemidji State. Of her four goals, three were scored on the power play. The performance tied the program record for power play goals in a game by a Buckeye. The record is held by Emma Laaksonen, who scored three times on the power play on March 2, 2001. The game also marked her first career hat trick.

Amos led the Buckeyes with three points in game two, adding three assists in the 4-0 win.

Five of her seven points on the weekend were recorded on the power play as she helped the Buckeyes’ special teams finish 6-for-10 on the player advantage.
