How It Happened

  • The Falcons opened the scoring about 10 minutes into the game off a tip in by junior Brett Pfoh. Graduate Ethan Scardina took a shot down the right-hand side that was initially saved. BGSU cycled the puck up to senior Ben Wozney who took a shot from the blue line. The puck was deflected twice by Scardina and then Pfoh to make the score 1-0.
  • Sophomore Ben Doran would double the Orange and Brown lead on the power-play at 15:37 in the first period. Graduate Ville Immonen initially won the face-off back to junior Eric Parker on the blue line. Parker passed it across to Wozney who found Doran on the left dot. Doran took a shot that beat the Lake Superior State goaltender on the short side.
  • BGSU out-shot the Lakers 15-10 in the first period
  • The Lakers would get one back at 7:05 in the second to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Falcons.
  • Scardina would net the insurance at 7:57 in the third period. Junior Quinn Emerson took the puck around the net before finding Scardina waiting in the slot to tap in the goal for his second of the year.
