BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green wide receiver Rahkeem Smith has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Nov. 24. He shares the honor with Ohio quarterback Parker Navarro.

This marks the first career weekly MAC accolade for Smith.

Smith (Jr., Baltimore, Md.) played a pivotal role in the Falcons’ victory against Ball State, compiling 81 receiving yards and three total touchdowns. After a narrow 10-7 lead at halftime, Smith extended the Falcons’ lead to 21-7 with a rushing touchdown late in the third quarter. On the ensuing drive, following a defensive stop, Smith caught a pass from Connor Bazelak, eluded two defenders, and sprinted 66 yards for the Falcons’ longest receiving touchdown of the season. Smith’s impact wasn’t limited to offense. He showcased his versatility on special teams by blocking a punt on the first play of the fourth quarter. He capped off his stellar performance with his second receiving touchdown of the game as Bowling Green outscored Ball State 28-6 in the second half to secure the win.

The Falcons return to action on Friday when they host Miami (OH) at Doyt Perry Stadium, with a trip to the MAC Championship Game on the line. Kickoff is set for noon.
