TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Local agencies in Monroe County are partnering to offer free Christmas tree recycling to residents.
From Dec. 26 through Jan. 12, residents can drop off their Christmas trees, with all decorations removed, at one of the following locations:
- Carr Park – 9240 Lewis Ave. in Temperance
- Berlin Township Hall – 8000 Swan View Drive in Newport
- Kiwanis Park – 2775 Nadeau Road in Monroe
- Ida Township Hall – 3016 Lewis Ave. in Ida
- Monroe Township Hall – 4925 East Dunbar Road in Monroe
“Rather than having these trees end up in a landfill, this is a great way to lessen your impact on the environment,” said Dan Rock, Recycling and Green Community Program Coordinator of the Monroe County Health Department. “The trees we receive will be chipped and reused around our community for landscaping at county parks and other public green spaces.”
