SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) – The YMCA of Greater Toledo is slated to buy a new facility in Sylvania Township as part of its expansion efforts.
A spokesperson for the YMCA of Greater Toledo said the organization has entered a purchase agreement for a facility on North Holland-Sylvania Road and plans to close on the property by the end of the year, should all final approvals go through.
The organization is considering it an expansion, with the new property boasting a 53,000 square foot facility.
“Our intent is to grow thoughtfully and collaboratively, ensuring that any expansion strengthens our ability to serve families and members while maintaining the community partnerships we value so dearly,” a statement from the YMCA spokesperson read.
The YMCA of Greater Toledo says the Sylvania community demand is strong, as demonstrated by the 160 kids enrolled in daily childcare and more than 800 campers each summer.
