Jersey Mike’s will run a fundraiser from its Aug. 27 grand opening to Aug. 31 to support The Cocoon.
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Some new fast-casual food options are opening up in Bowling Green.
A Wingstop opened at the intersection of East Wooster Street and South Mercer Road on Wednesday, and a Jersey Mike’s Subs will open next door in the same building on Aug. 27.
Raymond Fernandez, vice president of operations for the Wing It North Wingstop franchisee, says the company has long wanted to open a restaurant in Bowling Green, its first in Wood County.
“We’ve been super excited to get into the community. The community has been just so excited to have us here and we couldn’t be more happier with how the turnout has been so far,” he said.
The Jersey Mike’s franchisee, Tommy Pipatjarasgit, is also looking forward to being involved in the community.
The restaurant will hold its grand opening next week and begin a fundraiser that runs from Aug. 27-31 to support The Cocoon, a domestic abuse treatment center in the city.
“Customers who receive a special fundraising card distributed through a grassroots effort prior to the opening can make a minimum $3 contribution to The Cocoon in exchange for a regular sub. Customers must have a Free Sub fundraising card to be eligible,” according to a press release from Jersey Mike’s.
“We’re so happy to bring Jersey Mike’s to Bowling Green community and to make our first sub shop and grand opening super special with a fundraiser that will support The Cocoon initiatives,” Pipatjarasgit said in the press release. “This location is close to our hearts, and we’re thrilled to share Jersey Mike’s commitment to giving back and serving up fresh, authentic subs to the Bowling Green community.”
