UToledo says Hope Toledo still owes them $139k+ in unpaid tuition

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The University of Toledo said Thursday that Hope Toledo still has an outstanding balance regarding tuition that was supposed to be covered for 2020 Scott High School graduates.

A spokesperson for UToledo said the non-profit still owes more than $139,000 for students enrolled under the Hope Toledo Promise.

The university is still in communication with Hope Toledo about the outstanding balance.

The 13 Action News I-Team first reported months ago that the organization was failing to pay its bills, leaving the student’s educations in jeopardy.

At Lourdes University, two students who just graduated had balances paid in full, but some of the scholars enrolled for the upcoming school year will have payments due fall and spring.

The I-Team has reached out to Hope Toledo to clarify what bills remain unpaid and when they plan to fix the issue.
