TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – New students from Michigan will now receive discounted in-state tuition to the University of Toledo.
The University announced the change Wednesday, saying that students from Michigan that begin their undergraduate studies at UToledo in the Fall of 2026 will save $4,680 per semester.
“This is a great opportunity for our neighbors to the north to experience going away to college at an amazing university without paying out-of-state prices,” UToledo President James Holloway said. “This initiative is also a great way to attract talent to our region. We look forward to welcoming more students from the Great Lakes State to our campus.”
Michigan residents choosing to attend UToledo will automatically receive a scholarship to cover the out-of-state surcharge.
According to the university, 11% of UToledo’s undergraduate student body comes from Michigan.
