SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) – Two people have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a residence and assaulting a man in a wheelchair early Wednesday morning.
On July 9, deputies from the Sandusky County Sheriff’s were dispatched to the 7100 block of County Road 175 in York Township for reports of a man who was assaulted after his house was broken into.
When deputies arrived, they entered the house and noticed drawers lying on the floor that appeared to have been rummaged through. They also found the victim sitting in a wheelchair with blood on his face and a large cut on his throat.
The victim told deputies he was at home with his dad, who had planned for a female to come over to sell him something. The victim identified the people who were coming over as Dustin Grubb, 40, and Jocelyn Caudill, 45, and said he did not get along with them.
Deputies say Caudill arrived shortly after to sell what was discovered to be fentanyl to the victim’s father. After she sold the pills to him, Grubb then allegedly kicked in the door, snuck up behind the victim, held a sharp object to his throat and demanded the victim’s gun. The victim told deputies the gun was under his leg and Grubb cut his neck before he could give the gun up. The suspects then left the scene.
The victim believed this incident happened because he owed money to Grubb and Caudill.
When detectives talked to the father, he identified the male suspect as Grubb but said he had only met the female suspect a few times. The victim was taken to the hospital and detectives put out a BOLO for the suspects.
Later that morning, BPD assisted SCSO with executing a search and several arrest warrants at Grubb’s residence in the 1000 block of Monroe Street in Bellevue. Police arrested Grubb and Caudill and both were taken into custody without incident.
According to jail records, Grubb is facing one count of Aggravated Burglary and one count of Felonious Assault and Caudill is facing two counts of Complicity.
