Toledo sex offender accused of trying to meet minor for sex in Maumee

MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) – Police arrested a Toledo man for allegedly trying to meet a minor for sexual conduct in Maumee.

Eric Michael Snyder, 35, of Toledo, was arrested Thursday on a fourth-degree felony importuning charge. Police said he’s a registered sex offender. According to the Maumee Police Department, he traveled to Maumee with “intent to engage in sexual conduct with a juvenile.”

Police said he is on active parole for a similar offense. Officers arrested Snyder and booked him into the Lucas County jail on March 13. A judge set his bond at $50,000 and he’d have to pay that amount in full to be released. The judge said he’d have to be placed on a GPS monitor if he can post bond.

He’s due back in court on March 20.
