TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Lucas County grand jury indicted Brandon Hodnett on charges of theft, passing bad checks and forgery.
According to a police report, an auto repair shop was fixing Hodnett’s car and Hodnett attempted to pay the $29,549 bill with a fake check.
According to the report, the check was a fake and the man who attempted to cash the check was told by his bank that the check did not have an account and was charged a $20 return fee.
After the check was not cashed, the victim remained in contact with Hodnett, who said he would come up with the payment. But according to the police report, Hodnett stopped replying.
