Toledo man indicted in Eleanor Ave. shooting

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Lucas County grand jury indicted a man who police say shot a man during an altercation.

Records show the grand jury indicted Maurion Mitchell, 20, of Toledo, on March 12. He’s facing a felonious assault charge with a firearm specification.

The alleged shooting happened at a home in the 1300 block of Eleanor Ave. just before 4 a.m. on March 2. Officers at the scene told 13 Action News the victim suffered a gunshot graze wound and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Charging documents said Mitchell was in an altercation when he fired a shot that hit a man in the left side of his chest and left arm.

Mitchell is expected to face a Lucas County Common Pleas judge in the coming days.
