Toledo man arrested for allegedly pointing gun at another vehicle on I-75


FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WTVG) – A Toledo man was arrested on Wednesday after police say he pointed a gun at another vehicle while driving on I-75 in Frenchtown Township.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, around 4:38 p.m. on Jan. 8, dispatchers received a 911 call about a road rage incident on northbound I-75 near the 20 mile marker in Frenchtown Township. The caller said a man in a black Chevy Tahoe pulled alongside the caller’s vehicle and pointed a handgun at the three people inside.

MCSO says the caller was able to provide the license place and description of the suspect’s vehicle which allowed deputies to locate the suspect, who had stopped in the median on I-275 near N. Telegraph Road.

Deputies made contact with the suspect, a 56-year-old from Toledo, and took him into custody. During the arrest, deputies found a handgun as well as additional evidence of the crime.

The man was booked at the Monroe County Jail and is facing Felonious Assault charges.
