TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo man who was accused of stabbing two people in June and leaving them both hospitalized with serious injuries has been found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Thomas Wilson was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on July 2 and was facing one count of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault.
The charges stemmed from an alleged incident that occurred on June 25. According to charging records, on June 25, Wilson used an “edged weapon” to stab a woman multiple times; he is also accused of stabbing a man in the chest.
Court records show that on Sept. 16, Wilson appeared before a judge and was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
The court ordered that Wilson be referred to the Court Diagnostic and Treatment Center for an evaluation to determine if he is subject to hospitalization or institutionalization.
