An Evergreen Local employee was test driving the school bus Monday morning and failed to yield to right of way at a stop sign, OSHP said. Three people were injured.
FULTON COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus Monday morning in Fulton County.
The crash happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. on County Road 6 and County Road S in Amboy Township. A 2026 Blue Bird school bus, driven by Evergreen Local Schools employee Jeffrey Abrams, was heading southbound on County Road 6 when he failed to yield to the right of way from a stop sign, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Abrams, 68, of Metamora, was test driving the school bus.
Abrams was struck by an eastbound vehicle on County Road S, driven by a 45-year-old from Pierre, South Dakota, OSHP said. After the collision, Abrams left the roadway and struck a traffic sign.
Abrams sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
A passenger in the other vehicle, a 41-year-old from Easthampton, Massachusetts, was taken by ambulance to a Toledo-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was taken by air ambulance to a Toledo-area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The patrol issued a reminder to motorists to take another look before proceeding into intersections.
