Road woes continue in Point Place

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Point Place residents have seen recent road repairs, but feel the job isn’t complete.

Temporary fixes on a sinkhole on 111 Street have left the road closed, with people hoping for a permanent fix to arrive soon.

Residents like William Hiatt are hoping to push the city to replace the decaying streets all together.

“Now the next thing is for us all to fight for a new street because the whole thing is just caving in. As you can look down up and down the street you can see it warrants it,” Hiatt said. “We have a lot of kids on this street that play outside and that was one of the biggest concerns is kids coming up, getting near it, and falling in.”

Neighbors are gathering signatures for a petition in an effort to spur action.
