Police described the teen’s injuries as being serious.
TOLEDO, Ohio — A teenager was seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle Wednesday night.
According to a Toledo police report, a 17-year-old was traveling eastbound on Berdan Avenue on a skateboard just before 9 p.m. A vehicle then went around another car in the westbound lane near Drexel Drive and into the path of the teen on the skateboard.
The teen was struck and seriously injured, police said. They were taken to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle that allegedly struck the teen fled the scene. No information regarding the suspect or suspect vehicle was made available in the police report.
Police are investigating the incident.
