Person shot in central Toledo, police say

TOLEDO, Ohio — A female was hospitalized after being shot Tuesday afternoon in central Toledo, according to police.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of North Detroit Avenue near Buckingham Street around 2:30 p.m.

Police say the female drove away from the location after being shot before police stopped her and a suspect at the intersection of Dorr Street and North Detroit Avenue.

Police did not provide the age or condition of the victim. The suspect was taken into custody, police say.
