TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – SAME Café, a donation-based, fair exchange nonprofit restaurant located within Main Library since 2022, will be closing. The café’s last day of operation in Toledo is Wednesday, April 23.
The Toledo location was the second of it’s kind for So All May Eat, Inc., which first opened in Denver.
The group cited financial challenges in closing the second site.
The Toledo Library said in the press release announcing the closure that it “is incredibly proud of what it and SAME accomplished during the past three years: strengthening community through healthy food access and creating a shared space for collaboration, openness and care.”
There are no plans to fill the space at this current time.
