The statewide “Creativity Trail” features more than 100 stops, including notable locations that celebrate northwest Ohio’s close ties to the glass industry.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Ready for a road trip?
The America 250-Ohio Commission is launching a driving trail featuring more than 100 stops across the state in celebration of creativity and to honor the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
The “experiential trail” is grouped into six categories: On the Page, Music, Visual Arts, Pottery & Glass, Folk & Traditional Art and Carousels.
While the full trail has yet to be announced, notable attractions in northwest Ohio include the Toledo Museum of Art, Tiffin Glass Museum & Shoppe, Cedar Point’s Midway Carousel and the Glass Heritage Gallery in Fostoria.
Following the creativity theme, the sites focus on “the work of Ohio’s past and present writers, musicians, artists and other creative innovators,” the commission said in a press release.
The statewide trail, which will launch Feb. 7 at the Toledo Museum of Art’s Glass Pavilion, is the second of six trails planned for the America 250-Ohio “Trails & Tales” program.

The America 250-Ohio Commission was created by the state legislature and launched in March 2022. Its purpose is to “…to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate the commemoration of the two hundred fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the United States and the impact of Ohioans on the nation’s past, present, and future.”
Each state has been encouraged to create a celebration and commemorate the anniversary by celebrating the contributions the state has made to the nation over the past 250 years.
