Man dies after car goes airborne, crashes into ditch in Seneca Co.


JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) – A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Seneca County Monday morning.

The crash occurred on Nov. 25 around 11:54 a.m. in Jackson Township.

Ohio State Highway Patrol says Stephen Hoover, 64, of Fostoria, was traveling westbound on Township Road 154 in when he allegedly ran a stop sign, drove through an intersection and went off the west edge of Township Road 101. Officials say Hoover’s vehicle went airborne, crashed through a yard and landed in a ditch.

Hoover was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and died on scene.

It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
