Man arrested for alleged sexual assault of minor in Seneca County

FLAT ROCK, Ohio (WTVG) – Authorities arrested a Flat Rock man in Seneca County Monday for alleged sex crimes against a minor.

William Stevens, 46, of Flat Rock, was booked into the Seneca County Jail on Feb. 3 on a charge of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a third-degree felony.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, a sexual assault involving a minor at a home on Water Street in Flat Rock was reported earlier in the day.

Law enforcement agents from multiple agencies executed search warrants related to the report. The sheriff’s office said its detectives, along with FBI agents, obtained information related to the sex crimes allegation and officials confiscated evidence related to the alleged assault, including electronic devices.

Authorities arrested Stevens and said additional charges could be coming.

“Based on all the facts and circumstances of this entire investigation, I truly believe that Seneca County is safer this evening because this individual is off our streets. The diligent work and collaboration between numerous Federal and State Law Enforcement Agencies was instrumental to the success of this investigation,” Sheriff Fredrick Stevens said in a statement.

Additional information about the victim’s age is unknown at this time.
