Man arrested by SWAT in central Toledo

Police at the scene told WTOL 11 a man barricaded himself and refused to come out of his home after they attempted to serve an arrest warrant.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A person was arrested by the Toledo police SWAT division early Tuesday.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. near the corner of Delaware and Detroit Avenue when police and SWAT surrounded a home with guns drawn.

Police at the scene told WTOL 11 a man barricaded himself and refused to come out of his home after they attempted to serve an arrest warrant.

The man had multiple warrants for his arrest due to felonies and other misdemeanors, according to police.

After an hour, teargas was fired into the home and police were able to arrest the man.

The man had sustained minor injuries prior to police arriving so he was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

No one else was in the home at the time of the incident, police said.
