Man accused of holding 12-year-old against his will

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo man is facing charges for allegedly holding a 12-year-old boy against his will. Neighbors said they were suspicious about the relationship between the man and the young boy.

According to court documents, Quincy Young, 25, is charged with unlawful restraint, criminal child enticement and contributing to the unruliness and delinquency of a child.

Young allegedly kept the boy in his apartment on Arklow Drive for two weeks, not allowing him to leave. He is also accused of assaulting the boy when he tried to leave. Court documents allege that Young enticed the 12-year-old by giving him marijuana and buying him food and a cellphone.

“That blew my mind,” a woman who lives in the same apartment complex said.

The woman wanted to remain anonymous. She told 13 Action News that she became concerned when Young tried to bring the kid to her unit.

“Like knocking on my door, mind you, I didn’t let them in or nothing cause I’m like, ‘I don’t play with kids. I’m grown as hell, what do I look like?’” the woman said.

Neighbors said Young claimed the boy was a family member but neighbors did not believe him.

“So he talking about he’s 15. He’s my little brother. His mom kicked them out. I got to help him. Nah, CSB got to help,” a neighbor said.

Young entered a plea of not guilty to all charges on Oct. 1 and has been ordered to stay away from the victim.

Neighbors called the police and notified the apartment managers. Detectives then arrested Young. One neighbor said Young tried to talk his way out of getting arrested.

Young is due back in court on Oct. 9.
