Man accused of armed robbery in alleged Family Dollar theft

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A man is accused of brandishing a gun during an alleged robbery at a Dorr St. Family Dollar store Tuesday.

Rodney Jones was arrested Wednesday on charges of armed robbery and obstruction. from the UIs today – Agg robbery deadly weapon and obstructing official business

Police said Jones handed the Family Dollar cashier a note demanding money and brandished a gun.

He allegedly took money from the safe and cash register, making off with $1000 cash, a toy gun, gum and chocolate turtles.

He was chased down by officer on foot.

In court Wednesday, Jones bail was set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 20.
