LIST | Most popular baby names in Ohio for 2024

OHIO, USA — The Social Security Administration has released its state-by-state breakdown of the most popular baby names in 2024. 

The top 10 baby names for girls in Ohio for 2024 remains almost unchanged from 2023, barring a surprise decrease in the number of girls named “Ava.” For boys from 2023 to 2024, Jackson, William and Owen disappeared from the top 10, replaced by James, Elijah and Lucas. 

Here were some of the most popular baby names in Ohio last year, ranked and by how many babies were given that name in the state:

Olivia has been the most popular girl name for six years in a row and Liam has reigned supreme for eight years now for boys. In 2024, there were 22,164 babies named Liam and 14,718 babies named Olivia, according to SSA data.
