HANCOCK Co., Ohio (WTVG) – While executing several search warrants for an investigation into multiple stolen trailers and campers, authorities uncovered suspected drugs, a credit card skimmer and more.
According to a press release from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, seven search warrants were executed across Sandusky, Wood and Seneca counties. The search warrants came from an investigation into the theft of trailers, campers, vehicles and scrap metal in Allen, Hancock, Seneca and Wood counties.
According to the release, the investigation began in September after multiple trailers were stolen in Hancock County. Through the course of the investigation, authorities discovered that the trailer thefts were only some of the crimes committed by a group of people.
The search warrants uncovered a stolen Bobcat Skid Steer, a vehicle with a stolen license plate, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, a substance believed to be fentanyl, a credit card skimmer and electronic devices.
The investigation is still ongoing and the prosecutor’s office will review and determine charges at the conclusion of the investigation.
