I-75 has closed between both ends of the I-475 loop overnight and ODOT estimates it won’t reopen until Monday morning.
TOLEDO, Ohio — I-75 will close between both ends of the I-475 loop in Toledo overnight Saturday after a truck struck the Detroit Avenue overpass earlier Friday night, according to a spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Emergency repairs to the overpass are underway and ODOT estimates the closure will not be lifted until Monday morning. That stretch of the interstate covers about 14 miles.
It is not known yet what caused the crash or if there were any injuries.
ODOT recommends I-475 as an alternate route.
The truck hit the underside of the overpass around 8 p.m. on Friday and ODOT later determined the I-75 closure needed to happen.
A contractor is also going to the scene to evaluate the damage.
