Fostoria man accused of stabbing victim in neck, hands ‘several times’

FOSTORIA, Ohio (WTVG) – A Fostoria man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another person several times, leaving the victim with serious injuries, police said.

Stephen Biggs, 49, of Fostoria, was arrested and booked into the Hancock County Jail on a felonious assault charge on Friday.

Officers in Fostoria were called out to a home in the 200 block of Independence Avenue just before 5 p.m. on Nov. 14. Police said they found a man who had been stabbed several times in the neck and hands. Biggs was allegedly standing nearby holding a knife.

Police got the knife away from Biggs and began treating the victim until he could be taken to an area hospital. He was then airlifted to another hospital in Toledo for the severity of his injuries, police said.

The statement from police did not disclose a possible motive.

Authorities said Biggs could face additional charges pending the outcome of the investigation, but is currently being held without bail on the felonious assault charge.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called in to help collect evidence and process the crime scene.
