Former local officer convicted in drunk driving crash

GIBSONBURG, Ohio (WTVG) – A former local police officer was convicted of driving under the influence and causing a crash.

Court records show Jordan Queen, 23, pleaded guilty to OVI and failure to control on May 7. She was fired from the Gibsonburg Police Department after the incident back in February.

A judge sentenced her to 180 days in jail with all of that time suspended, records show. She’ll also be on probation for three years. As part of the terms of her sentencing, she’ll also need to complete 25 hours of community service, among other terms and restrictions.

Investigators said Queen crashed into a tree while driving her own car on north State Route 101. She claims she slid off the road. When police responded, she told authorities she drank way earlier in the night. They also confiscated her police work belt from the car as evidence.

After the crash, Queen was taken to an area hospital for treatment and took a breathalyzer test. Body camera footage shows a deputy saying her PBT showed a 171.

She had only joined the police force in June of 2024 and was still in her probationary period at the time of the crash.
